BE MORE FLAMINGO!
Did you know that the flamingo only becomes its flamboyant colourful self when it is fully nourished. Before that, it is a paler, greyer version of itself. When our lives feel out of balance and we are not feeling nourished physically, mentally or emotionally, we can sometimes feel a paler, greyer version of ourselves. What version of flamingo are you feeling right now?
with
People Like Me coaching
If you’re feeling a bit like a pale flamingo, coaching can help. As a coach, I can support you to regain and maintain the balance in life that works for you; reaching your full potential in all aspects of your life including work, home, family, personal development and dreams. We get one life: this is not a rehearsal so why not live it in the most meaningful way for you?
In this complex life, we juggle competing priorities, concerns and decisions, sometimes losing ourselves and our dreams and goals in the process. If you are like me you will have sometimes felt as if your thoughts, concerns or ideas are like clothes that are all tangled up in a tumble dryer with only the occasional stray sleeve to give you a clue as to how to unravel them.
So, if you want to regain your balance, rediscover your direction and be a bit more flamingo, read on!

Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons!
The flamingo only becomes its pink flamboyant self when it is fully nourished. When under nourished, it is a paler version of itself. If you are feeling like a paler version of yourself and want to reach your full potential, invest in yourself and witness the change you create.
My approach as a coach:
A ‘thinking partner’ with a bit extra!
I will work alongside you as a ‘thinking partner’ using coaching tools and frameworks to encourage you to kick start your thinking, identify your priorities, set your own goals and develop solutions and strategies to remove barriers and take action.
No matter what your reason for investing in coaching, I coach YOU and not just the issue you initially bring. Coaching is about supporting growth and change by reinforcing your own resourcefulness. I offer coaching conversations that draw on extra qualifications allowing me to use specific techniques grounded in neuroscience to support whichever direction you want to take:
A set of evidence based tools to manage overwhelm and gain clarity of thought
Coaching in nature if walking (or sitting) and talking outdoors will help you free up your thinking
Using our physical intelligence to understand how an embodied approach to our lives can support change that is well within our control
That said, YOU are the expert in your life so my aim is to enable you to find the answers that are right for you. I want to find out how far your mind can go first before it needs mine.
My approach as a trainer:
Developing the coach approach for organisations, teams and individuals
Recruiting and retaining an engaged and skilled workforce within health care has never felt so challenging and important. Coaching approaches have been proven to have an impact on staff engagement, wellbeing, productivity and also more effective time management for line managers when staff become more proficient in solving problems.
As a health care, education and public health professional with many years of experience in the NHS and charity sector both in the UK and Jersey I am well placed to support organisations and charities to develop the coach approach for staff. As a qualified coach, a trainer in clinical supervision and an accredited action learning facilitator, I can help you design a bespoke coach approach depending on your needs including:
Clinical supervision skills training and consultancy – supporting you to retain an engaged workforce, maintain high clinical standards and meet the standards of the Jersey Care Regulations
Beating Burnout and Managing Overwhelm: evidence based toolkit that can be used within teams or with individuals to increase productivity at the same time as improving wellbeing
Development and facilitation of targeted action learning groups to support staff development and productivity
Social Responsibility
I’ve worked in health and social care for all of my career in some capacity and as part of giving back, every six months I work with a small charity to offer a free ‘People Like Me’ project in support of the dedicated and committed staff that work there. Since starting up in 2022, I have worked with and offered services to:
Jersey Recovery College - facilitation of an action learning set for their staff team over six sessions
Focus Mental Ilness - a workshop focusing on ‘managing self and supporting colleagues’
MacMillan Jersey - facilitation of an action learning set for the staff team over six sessions
Jersey Eating Disorders Support - Member of the Committee focusing on supervision - 202
Association of Jersey Charities - Member of Training and Development Committee
If you are a small Jersey based charity who would be interested in working together then please do get in touch.
